Applied Element Method (AEM) in Dynamic and Seismic Analysis
Апстракт
Applied Element Method (AEM), as the relatively new (15-20 years old) and little known numerical method is presented in the paper, first generally, and then with particular reference to dynamic and seismic analysis. Using the AEM it is possible to efficiently and successively solve most of the structural problems that could be also analyzed by the Finite Element Method(FEM). On the other hand, there are various classes of problems that could not be solved by the FEM, but could be efficiently treated using the AEM, such as the crack development, failure, progressive collapse, impacts, etc.
