Influence of Aggregate Type on the Properties on SCC with Fly Ash

AB  - This study compared the performance of self-compacting concrete (SCC) based on fly ash addition and limestone filler. A SCC prepared with Portland cement, river sand, and limestone filler was used as a reference sample. Additional experimental self-compacting concretes with different types of fine aggregates, fillers, and special additives for increasing freeze-thaw resistance were prepared and optimized. The correlation between mix design, i.e., percentage of barite sand and additives, and properties of fresh SCC (slump-flow test, V-funnel test, and L-box test), as well as properties of hardened SCC (compressive strengths), were investigated and discussed.

Economical and ecological aspects of use of bio-lubricants and conventional lubricants

AB  - It is believed that more than 50% of produced lubricants during or/and after the operation is due directly or indirectly to the environment. For these reasons, in areas where the application of lubricant is related to the total „loss“ in the environment, there is a tendency to replace conventional oil with bio-lubricants, environmenrally acceptable lubricants. From an environmental point of view, the advantages of using vegetabče oil as compared to conventional mineral oils are non-toxicity, bio-degradability, renewability, good lubricity, high flash point and viscosity index, low volatility, savings and conservation of non-renewable resources, less dependence or non-renewable resources, reduced emissions of greenhouse gases and increased agricultural production. From an economic point of view, the price of biolubricants is higher compared to conventional lubricants since in production of biolubricants as a base is used vegetable oils (triglycerides) pr synthetic fatty acid esters and therefore , the list of components or additives is significantly limited. Accordingly, in this paper we define the „ecological footprint“ of a liter of conventional mineral oil compared with one liter of biolubricant for the lubrication of chainsaws, since this lubricant is used in highly-sensitive application areas, complex forest ecosystem. The aim of this paper is to present the „pure life cycle“ through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for both types of lubricants and environmental parameters expressed in economic terms to encourage reflection on the further development of this sector, while also raising awareness of end-users.

Phytoremediation of agricultural land contaminated with pesticides

AB  - Pesticides are substances intended for preventing, destroying, suppressing or reducing pests.
They are in use for more than 60 years and they are divided according to purpose, chemical
composition and toxicity category. The use of pesticides in agriculture has positive and negative sides, both from an economic as well as a social and environmental point of view. It is known that pesticides through biogeochemical cycles mature to all environmental media, and even the food chain, which explicitly has an impact on human health. Phytoremediation is one of the natural methods used for solving the problem of the presence of pesticides in agricultural soils, using plant species that perform stabilization and degradation of pesticides. During the planning ecoremediation project of degraded agricultural land, selection of phytoremediation techniques depends on many factors, among other things, the types of contaminants and plant species that will be used.
After examining the results of some studies, reports, and regulations, this paper shows the
importance of phytoremediation of degraded agricultural land in the light of affordable and green
technology without negative effects and products on the environment and human health as well as
appropriate techniques of modern man who seeks to sustainable development. It is necessary to take into consideration the use of biopesticides as alternatives to current trend of uncontrolled use of conventional pesticides.

AB  - This paper presents mathematical formulation and numerical tests of originally developed Iterative Displacement Coefficient Method (IDCM). The IDCM method is a procedure in the field of seismic analysis of structures based on the Nonlinear Static Pushover Analysis. The target displacement level is determined by using a double iterative procedure developed in the IDCM. The first iterative procedure is carried out simultaneously by forces and displacements, while the second iterative procedure is carried out by correction of obtained solution for the target displacement over a pushover curve. Implementation of the IDCM method is performed by development of the computer code Nonlin Quake TD.

Developing a methodology for the integrated numerical evaluation and performance assessment of soil-pile-pier

AB  - In the paper is developed a discrete numerical solid pile model with a discontinuity and defects. Model included performance-based seismic evaluation of the soil-pile-bridge pier interaction. The pile discontinuity and defects are modelled by reducing the specific finite elements and elastic modulus of concrete. The wave-propagation response of the pile was analyzed based on a step-by-step numerical integration using the Hilber-Hughes-Taylor (HHT) method in time domain (THA). The response analysis is performed with an integration of individual reflectograms into a reflectogram surface, which is generated in a 3D cylindrical coordinate system. Non-linear response of the system is considered using the incremental-iterative Newton-Raphson`s method, while the stability analysis is performed according to the modified geometrical nonlinearity analysis of stability. Determination of critical load and effective length of the pile are performed based on numerical solution and using regression analysis of the power function. The procedure of the soil-pile-bridge pier performance evaluation is based on the incremental nonlinear dynamic analysis (INDA). The system's input signal is treated through the generated artificial accelerograms, which were subsequently processed by soil layers and for the bedrock. Fragility curves were constructed based on solutions of the regression analysis and the probability theory of log-normal distribution, while the generation of reliability curves is based on a solution of vulnerability.

AB  - Globalno zagrevanje je jedan od najsloženijih problema današnjice koji se manifestuje povećanjem prosečne temperature zemljine atmosfere od početka dvadesetog veka. Smatra se da je uzrok nastanka usled povećanih emisija CO2 i CH4 koji dovode do efekta staklene bašte. Globalno zagrevanje je nastalo nizom prirodnih uzroka poput: oslobađanje metana iz arktičkih tundri i močvara; promene u Zemljinoj orbiti; varijacije u emisiji energije Sunca i sunčeve pege; vulkanske aktivnosti i emisije aerosola koje oštećuju ozonski omotač. Međutim, uzroci nastali ljudskim delovanjem su ubrzali ovaj proces i kao neke od bitnijih možemo da navedemo: prenaseljenost i veliki broj stanovnika; pojačana industrijalizacija; sagorevanje fosilnog goriva kao osnovnog izvora energije; nestanak šuma; rupa u ozonskom omotaču; kao i sam način života ljudi u urbanom ekosistemu.

AB  - U skladu sa rastućom brigom za zaštitu životne sredine i potrebom razvoja održivog građevinarstva, javlja se i veće interesovanje za istraživanja u oblasti novih materijala, koji će koristiti otpadne sirovine i imati manji uticaj na životnu sredinu. U ovom radu analizirane su karakteristike elektrofilterskog pepela iz termoelektrane 'Nikola Tesla B'u Obrenovcu i mogućnost njegove primene u geopolimerima na bazi alkalno aktiviranog elektrofilterskog pepela, kao novog veziva za beton. Vršena su eksperimentalna ispitivanja granulometrijskog i hemijskog sastava pepela, kao i ugradljivosti i čvrstoće pri pritisku uzoraka spravljenih od geopolimer pasti sa različitim odnosom vodenog stakla i natrijum-hidroksida kao alkalnih aktivatora. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju da se pepeo iz termoelektrane 'Nikola Tesla B' može upotrebiti kao vezivo u geopolimerima sa vodenim staklom i natrijum-hidroksidom, kao alkalnim aktivatorom uz negu zagrevanjem na 80°C u određenom vremenskom periodu.
AB  - As the concern for the environment and need for sustainable construction practice continues to grow, research in the field of new materials made with waste materials which have a lower impact on the environment is gaining wide interest. This paper analyzes the characteristics of fly ash from power plant 'Nikola Tesla B', and its applications in alkali activated fly ash geopolymers as a new binder in concrete. Testing of the particle size distribution and chemical composition of fly ash has been done, as well as the testing of workability and compressive strength of geopolymer pastes under different ratios of water glass and sodium hydroxide. The results show that fly ash from power plant 'Nikola Tesla B' can be used as a binder in alkali activated fly ash geopolymers made with water glass and sodium hydroxide as alkali activators cured on 80°C a certain period of time.

AB  - Da bi se procenila sigurnost zavarenog spoja па delu jedne konstrukcije izradene od šavnih cevi, potrebno је ispitati mehaničke i tehnološke karakteristike mаtегijаlа. Ispitivanja zatezne čvrstoće, tvrdoće, žilavosti i па savijanje izvedena su па mikrolegiranim čelicima Х60 i Ј55. Cevi od čelika Х60 su zavarene ЕРР i visokofrekventnim postupkom, а cevi od čelika J55 su zаvагеnе samo visokofrekventnim postupkom. Ispitivanja su pokazala da materijal Ј55 zavaren visokofrekventnim postupkom može da se koristi za odgovorne cevovode do temperature -20C.
Materijal Х60 zavaren visokofrekventnim postupkom zbog niske žilavosti zavarenog spoja nе može da se koristi па niskim temperaturama, а zavaren postupkom ЕРР može da se upotrebljava za odgovorne cevovode do tempeгature -20С, s tim da parametri zavarivanja mогајu da se usklade tako da оmоgućе blaži režim zаvагivаnја kojim bise dobila niža čvrstoća i tvrdoća
zаvагеnоg spoja, а veća žilavost.
