AB - The performance of thermo-insulation rendering mortars with alternations in ratios of powdered cordierite and talc was examined. The goal was to confirm that recycled kilnware cordierite can be reapplied in the mortar design without significant deterioration in performance in comparison with OPC mortar. Differential thermal analysis was employed for examining thermally induced reactions. The cavitation erosion, in testing sequences ranging from 30 to 120 minutes, was used to assess the compactness of the mortar structure. The physico-mechanical properties of experimental mortars were investigated. The morphologies of the mortar tablets upon cavitation were studied using a scanning electron microscope. It was established that cordierite and talc filler in amounts up to 20% enhance microstructural packing and mechanical strengths due to improved cementation and therefore contribute to cavitation erosion resistance. Higher amounts of talc cause structural degradation and mass loss during cavitation tests. Reducing manufacturing costs, energy consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions are the main objectives of the production of this waste-based construction composite, as the reuse of waste materials can help achieve a number of Sustainable Development Goals.

AB - Steel grade 14MoV6 3 is used for manufacturing of boilers and steam pipelines designed for steam temperatures up to 560°C. This paper presents the numerical simulation of a CT-specimen, using the finite element method. The analysis was performed using Ansys Workbench R21, and represents the initial stage of extensive research involving the behaviour of 14MoV6 3 steel. The goal was to simulate the real experimental conditions, including boundary conditions and loads, which were defined in accordance with relevant standards, and to obtain representative results. The temperature dependent mechanical properties needed for the simulation of plastic behaviour of such specimens under tensile loads were obtained from the experimental data and the literature.

AB - This paper is devoted to the ductile–brittle transition behavior of high strength low alloyed structural steel NIOMOL 490K. This steel grade is designed for welded pressure vessels exposed to dynamic loads, operating at temperatures below zero, and that is why it must have acceptable toughness. Due to its importance for the safety assessment of pressure vessels, a characterization of this steel with Charpy V-notch test in range of temperature between-60 ⁰C and +60 ⁰C was undertaken. Ductile-to-brittle transition temperature curves were generated in the present study by using instrumented Charpy pendulum impact test on V-notch specimens. Notches were located in the parent material, heat-affected zone and weld metal. The nil-ductility temperature and tensile properties in temperature range from -60 ⁰C to +60 ⁰C are presented in this paper. We used different test temperatures to better understand ductile-to brittle transition response than just use either Charpy energy or other related ductility criteria.

AB - Surface sediments collected from twelve stations in the Boka Kotorska Bay were analyzed for the level and distribution of twenty-six elements and ten oxides, grain sizes, organic matter, and carbonate content. Potentially toxic elements (Al, Fe, Mn, Cr, Zn, Ni, Cu, Pb, As, Co, U) were determined to assess the contamination status and potential environmental risk according to the single-element indices (enrichment factor (EF), geoaccumulation index (Igeo), contamination factor (CF)), and combined index (pollution load index (PLI)). The single-element indices EF and CF revealed that the surface marine sediment was moderately polluted with Pb, Cu, and Cr, while Igeo indicated moderate pollution with Ni > Cr > Zn > Cu > As and moderate to heavy pollution with Pb, as a result of the anthropogenic factors. The method of the combined effect of toxic elements, PLI, showed the highest pollution rate at the shipyard location in the Bay of Tivat. Pearson's correlation coefficient (r), principal component analysis (PCA), and cluster analysis (CA) were applied to highlight similarities and differences in the distribution of the investigated elements in the Bay, confirming the claim obtained by the pollution indices. The sediment contamination with most heavy metals, such as Cr, Zn, Ni, Cu, Pb, and As, has been identified in the Tivat Bay area.

Additionally, the paper describes the investigation conducted based on the results of non-destructive tests (visual-, magnetic particle-, dye penetrant-, and ultrasonic tests), results of tensometric measurements that refer to the stress-strain state, and results based on numerical calculation of stresses by finite element method, performed through the use of a 3D model in the software Radimpex Tower 6.0 (R). The results of tests and research performed after the repair of damaged structural welded sections show that the operational procedures are being obeyed.

AB - Topic of this work is the integrity assessment of the pipeline section from hydropower plant Pirot. Crack-like defect size, maximum depth, is determined based on non-destructive evaluation - the largest crack depth is taken as the initial value for load carrying capacity estimation. Also, the crack dimensions (both length and depth) are varied. Limit pressure values are determined from 3D and 2D models of pipes with axial cracks on external surface. The influence of tensile loading on the load carrying capacity of the pipes with circumferential cracks is also examined. Integrity of pipes with both types of defects (axial and circumferential) is assessed through application of FAD diagrams.
